PLACE EVENT

1. The Place event shall be the designated race(s) of the day appearing in the racing program as approved by the Philippine Racing Commission.

2. The bettor shall select one number that must finish either first, second or third from the starters in the designated race of the Place event.

3. The bettor can choose from as many numbers as he wishes.

4. The minimum investment shall be P5.00. Other denominations in excess of the minimum investment of P5.00, in the exact multiple of P1.00, shall be made available.

5. Dividend Qualifications:

5.a. For eight (8) or more starters: 1st, 2nd or 3rd place horses.

5.a.1. The Place dividend shall be computed based on the unit of P1.00 by dividing the Place total gross dividend pool by three (3), and the quotient thereof will be used to compute the partial net dividend pool for each part. The partial net dividend pool of each corresponding part shall then be divided by the cost of winning tickets of that part. The dividend for each unit bet shall be declared by eliminating the fraction of ten centavos. No dividend less than P1.00 per unit shall be declared. Official dividend shall be posted based on the minimum bet of P5.00.

5.a.2. In case of a dead heat for first place (2 or 3 horses) or for second place (2 horses), the dividend computation shall be the same as 5.a.1 above.

5.a.3. In case of a dead heat for first place involving four (4) or more horses with money bets, the dividends shall be computed by dividing the total gross dividend pool by the number of horses involved in the dead heat. The quotient thereof shall be used to compute the partial net dividend pool for each corresponding part. The partial net dividend pool of each corresponding part shall then be divided by the cost of winning tickets for that part.

5.a.4. In case of a dead heat for second place involving three (3) or more horses with money bets, the dividends shall be computed by dividing the total gross dividend pool into three parts. One part shall be used for the first place whereby the dividend computation is similar to 5.a.1 above. As for the total of the two remaining parts, this shall be divided among the number of horses involved in the dead heat and the quotient thereof shall be used to compute the partial net dividend pool for each part. The partial net dividend pool of each corresponding part shall then be divided by the cost of winning tickets for that particular winning number.

5.a.5. In case of a dead heat for third place involving two (2) or more horses, the dividend shall be computed by dividing the total gross dividend pool by three. Each of the two parts (for first and second place) dividend computation is similar to 5.a.1 above. The remaining part shall then be divided by the number of horses involved in the dead heat with money bets and the quotient thereof shall be used to compute the partial net dividend pool for each part. The partial net dividend pool of each part shall likewise be divided by the total cost of winning tickets for that particular winning number.

5.a.6. In the event that one of the placed horse has not been selected; the dividends shall be paid to the holders of tickets with two selected placed horses and the fourth place winner. If no money bets were placed on the fourth place winner, the dividend shall be paid to the fifth placer and so on. In the event that two of the placed horses have not been selected, the dividend shall be paid to the holders of tickets with the selected placed horses and the fourth and fifth placed horses and so on.

In case of a dead heat and one of the winning place horses has not been selected, the following rules shall apply:

5.a.6.a. If horses 1 and 2 dead heated for first and one was not selected, dividends shall be paid to the other horse involved in the dead heat that was selected and the third and fourth place horses. If both horses 1 and 2 were not selected, dividends shall be paid to the third, fourth, and fifth place horses and so on;

5.a.6.b. If horses 2 and 3 dead heated for second and one was not selected, dividends shall be paid to the first place horse, the horse involved in the dead heat that was selected and the fourth place horse. If both horses 2 and 3 were not selected, dividends shall be paid to the first, fourth and fifth place horse and so on.

5.a.7. If less than three finishers were selected, the dividends shall be divided among the one or two finishers with money bets.

5.a.8. If all finishers were not selected, the total pool shall be refunded.

5.b. For five (5) to seven (7) starters: 1st or 2nd place horses.

5.b.1. The Place dividend shall be computed based on the unit of P1.00 by dividing the Place total gross dividend pool by two (2), and the quotient thereof will be used to compute the partial net dividend pool for each part. The partial net dividend pool of each corresponding part shall then be divided by the cost of winning tickets of that part. The dividend for each unit bet shall be declared by eliminating the fraction of ten centavos (breakage). No dividend less than P1.00 per unit shall be declared. Official dividends shall be posted based on the minimum bet of P5.00.

5.b.2. In case of a dead heat for first place involving two (2) horses, dividend computation shall be the same as 5.b.1 above.

5.b.3. In case of a dead heat for first place involving three (3) or more horses with money bets, the dividends shall be computed by dividing the total gross dividend pool by the number of horses involved in the dead heat. The quotient thereof shall be used to compute the partial net dividend pool for each corresponding part. The partial net dividend pool of each corresponding part shall then be divided by the cost of winning tickets for that part.

5.b.4. In case of a dead heat for second place involving two (2) or more horses with money bets, the dividends shall be computed by dividing the total gross dividend pool by two parts. One part shall be for the first place whereby the dividend computation shall be similar to 5.b.1. The number of horses involved in the dead heat shall divide the other part and the quotient thereof shall be used to compute a partial net dividend pool of each part. The partial net dividend pool of each corresponding part shall be divided by the cost of winning tickets of that particular winning number.

5.b 5. In the event that one of the placed horse has not been selected, the dividends shall be paid to the holders of tickets with the selected placed horse and the third place winner. If no money bets were placed on the third place winner, the dividend shall be paid to the fourth placer and so on. In the event that two of the placed horses have not been selected, the dividend shall be paid to the holders of tickets with the third and fourth placed horses and so on.

In case of a dead heat and one of the winning place horses has not been selected, the following rules shall apply:

5.b.5.a. If horses 1 and 2 dead heated for first and one was not selected, dividends shall be paid to the horse involved in the dead heat that was selected and the third place horse. If both horses 1 and 2 were not selected, dividends shall be paid to the third and fourth place horses and so on.

5.b.5.b. If horses 2 and 3 dead heated for second and one was not selected, dividends shall be paid to the first place horse and the horse involved in the dead heat that was selected. If both horses 2 and 3 were not selected, dividends shall be paid to the first and fourth place horse and so on.

5.b.6. If less than two (2) finishers were selected, the dividend shall be distributed to the only finisher that was selected.

5.b.7. If all finishers were not selected, the total pool shall be refunded.

6. When there are eight (8) or more starters declared in a race, Place bets may be accepted and dividends shall be paid on the first, second and third place horses. When there are five but less than eight declared starters, Place bets may be accepted but dividends shall be paid on the first and second place horses only. When there are four or less starters, there will be no Place betting. If during the betting period, horses are withdrawn and the number of declared starters is less than eight, the rules above shall apply, except when the number of declared starters is less than five in which case the betting shall be stopped and all bets already made shall be refunded.

7. In case of scratched entry or entries, all bets on said entry or entries shall be refunded.

8. In the event that the race is cancelled, all bets made shall likewise be refunded.
